We know our Upserve customers are some of the best in the biz, acting as industry trendsetters serving up quality eats day to guests from around the country. So it comes as no surprise that they make up more than a fifth of the finalists for Bon Appétit’s 2017 list of the Best New Restaurants in America. The top 10 will be announced later this month, but until then, check out the 11 Upserve customers who made it to the list. (And make those reservations soon!)

Restaurant: Hart’s
Location: Brooklyn, NY

Hart’s on Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn has earned a name for themselves thanks to their cozy atmosphere and chef Nick Perkins’ Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. If you can score one of their 30 seats, you’ll be treated to simple fare with complex flavors, as well as wine carefully selected by in-house beverage director Nialls Fallon.

Restaurant: Olmsted
Location: Brooklyn, NY

Also in Brooklyn on Vanderbilt Avenue, Olmsted’s chef Greg Baxtrom proves that carefully executed creativity can make a restaurant stand out from New York’s dense restaurant landscape. Olmstead features a dining experience for almost any occasion, whether you enjoy sitting at a communal table or in the private garden.

Restaurant: Nina June
Location: Rockport, ME

Be sure to order the pasta as you take in the rustic farmhouse ambiance of Nina June in Rockport, Maine. Try to take advantage of the popular waterfront seating, which fills up quickly, as you enjoy the Maine-meets-Mediterranean trattoria cuisine of chef Sara Jenkins.

Restaurant: Pineapple and Pearls
Location: Washington, D.C.

Chef Aaron Silverman won Bon Appétit‘s Best New Restaurant award with his Rose’s Luxury in 2014. This year, he’s back on the list with Washington, D.C.’s Pineapple and Pearls, a sleek eatery that offers lunch, dinner, morning coffee and pastries, located steps from the nation’s capital.  

Restaurant: Palizzi Social Club
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Pineapple and Pearls is joined in the Mid-Atlantic region by another top 50 alum,  chef Joey Baldino’s Palizzi Social Club. This cozy Italian restaurant housed in a former Italian-American social club fills its 35 seats with diners looking for an old-school feel, classic Caesar salads, and house grappa.

Restaurant: Bastion
Location: Nashville, TN

Heading down South, chef/owner Josh Habiger wears several hats in his new dual-concept restaurant. Bastion, a 24-seat joint located in Nashville, features not only outstanding fare served from an open kitchen but a massive bar cranking out some serious cocktails.

Restaurant: Little Jack’s Tavern
Location: Charleston, SC

Little Jack’s Tavern is a low-country classic in Charleston that serves its food with an extra helping of Southern hospitality. Check out burgers that have proved so popular, they’ve made their way onto the dessert menu.

Restaurant: Alma
Location: Minneapolis, MN

In the Midwest, chef Alex Roberts’ new all-hours spot  Alma serves as a cafe, fine dining restaurant, and even a seven-room hotel. Exposed brick, hardwood floors, and polished brass, plus the cozy inn above, make for a warm and welcoming feel.  

Restaurant: Nixta
Location: St. Louis, MO

Farther down the Mississippi in St. Louis, the vibrant interior and authentic flavors of chef Tello Carreon’s Nixta have landed the Botanical Heights neighborhood establishment on the top 50. Correon combines flavors from across Mexico, including his native Guanajuato, with family recipes passed down from his grandmother.

Restaurant: Dame
Location: Portland, OR

Portland’s Dame is a cozy spot, with the warm hardwood floors, dim lighting and intimate seating designed for couples and small groups.  A strong wine menu and seasonally sourced fare provides a perfect spot for a first date or 50th anniversary.  

Restaurant: Marmite
Location: Seattle, WA

Chef Bruce Naftaly and his wife Sarah came out of retirement this year to helm Seattle’s Marmite, and they’re proving that age is nothing but a number. While Sarah runs the Spirit in the Bottle, a bar within the restaurant, her husband ladles out locally sourced soups, as well as classic French cuisine.

The Best New Restaurant list will be further whittled down from 50 to the top 10 on Aug. 15.
