I have been doing some research for a friend looking to start a restaurant (In the UK) on the various online reservation tools available. There is a lot of available info on OpenTable, but less info on BookATable and Quandoo. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts, or potentially knew the costs of these two services.
Hi Chris – There’s lots to consider here but I’ll focus on what I think it the main issue – price per reservation. All the systems you mentioned above charge a per cover fee for bookings generated from your website but also have the benefit of providing diners though their own websites – also at a cost. Alternatively you might consider a system that doesn’t charge per cover fees. There are many but we use Eat. A system like this will give you more margin. It very much depends on how reliant you are on bookings from 3rd party websites.
