In the restaurant industry the challenging parts are that we have a lot of people, a lot of moving parts. I have people who’ve worked with me for 17 years. There’s no one person who walks in and just like does everything. It’s a bunch of people who have to do a bunch of little things to make anything happen.

Having Upserve HQ and Upserve POS has helped us to focus on customers because, it’s been able to help us in two ways. It’s been able to help the front of house, and the back of house, to execute transactions much more efficiently. They spend less time thinking about what they have to put into the computer or what they have to write down. It’s more organized for them, and the less time that they sit at the POS, the better. Because I want them to spend as much time as possible in front of the customer.
The second leg of how it helps us is by giving me the information and the reports that I read and the managers get the reports as well, giving us the information that helps us to tweak our business so that it’s better suited for the customers.
Something that’s very important to me, is that you have to have remote access to it. When I’m not here, I want to keep kind of a grip, so that I can communicate with people what I think is the way to resolve the problems that come along, and there’s many problems every day. And it’s better to handle them quick.
Both of those things are for enhancing the customer experience. And generally we feel that, Upserve HQ and Upserve POS, they have helped us to do that, to do our job. They go into the background, they give us information efficiently, quickly, and they get out of the way. Which is what we need because our focus is the customers, it has to be.
