Every generation likes different things than the previous one. So who is filling your restaurant seats and in turn… your cash register?
An important thing to remember when focusing in on who your guests really are is that it is not just the amount they are spending, which is important, but the percentage of their disposable income they are willing to spend on going out to restaurants.
Millennials spend, on average, the largest share of their budget (around 6%) on eating out, which is more than both of the other generations. So while they may be making less now, soon this generation will overwhelmingly be your guests.
