In May 2016, the American Express Restaurant Trade Survey revealed just how closely restaurants were looking at no tipping.
- 18% of restaurants, as of May, have adopted a no-tip model
- 29% of restaurants as of the same time admitted they planned to adopt a no-tip policy
- 27% of restaurants, however, said they had no intention of jumping on board with the trend
The data is clear, more restaurants will surely be taking a look at eliminating tipping. But should they be?
